About Me
I started Kriya Design with a simple intention: to make spirituality more compelling to people on the street, and to do that through graphic design.
Design often creates the first impression of your organization, service, or product. It's very important, whether you want to build brand connections or make your marketing more effective.
In my decades serving spiritual organizations, I've led teams where we reached millions of people over time—through SEO, email lists in the tens of thousands, videos on YouTube—and get that design happens only in service of the goals of your organization. Sometimes it needs to stop people in their tracks, and sometimes it needs to fade into the background.
My history in marketing, writing, coding, and leading teams also informs what I bring to the table as a freelance designer. I'm naturally organized, predictable, and communicative; I stay on top of deadlines; and I enjoy doing my homework to deeply understand your organization and its needs. Though we can shelve them if they aren’t what is called for on a particular assignment, I almost always have helpful ideas beyond design.
The other relevant part of my experience is my spiritual background: I've been meditating every day since 2003 and lived in an intentional spiritual community, Ananda Village, for almost 20 years.
But what of bringing in someone from outside your spiritual work? Fresh perspectives combined with long experience can be helpful. But people have to have the right vibration to represent you effectively, so they can help draw the right people to you. Calmness, higher awareness, peace—these things are as important as creativity and insight.
The best designers also genuinely share enthusiasm for your vision. And I do, too. Your success matters to me. It's not just a job.
